MANILA – Just like the Iloilo United Royals, expansion team Bacolod Master Sardines are also set to play its first Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League home match next month.
In a Facebook post, Bacolod City congressman Greg Gasataya announced that the game is on Sept. 21 with the opponent and venue still to be finalized.
“More details in the coming weeks. Let us save the date and show our support to te team Bacolod,” he added.
The Vic Ycasiano-mentored Bacolod team has five homegrown players in its roster in Villamonte-native Mark Dela Cruz, Bacolod City’s Nico Javelona, ES Santos, Arben Dionson, and Spencer Pretta.
Pretta and Ralph Tansingco, however, are expected to make their debuts for the Bacolod roster late in the season as they are still playing for the Lyceum of the Philippines Pirates in the NCAA Season 95 men’s basketball.
Other players in the Bacolod roster are Jan Colina, Jeff Javillonar, JP Cauilan, Jerome Ortega, Louie Medalla, Von Lanete, Carl Soriano, Lloyd Castor, Arnold Daganan, Justine Alano, and William Vasalio.
The Bacolod City-based squad is currently at the latter part of the North Division with 3-5 win-loss record./PN
