Bacolod City retailers seek revival of ‘night market’

BACOLOD City – The RTW and Retailers of Metro Bacolod Association, Inc. (RRMBAI) is requesting the city government to allow the holding of a “night market” on Bonifacio Street here.

The group wants to try how it could augment their income.

Their proposed trial nights for this are until June 30, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Formalizing their request, Sheila Versoza, president of the RRMBAI, sent a letter to the Sangguniang Panlungsod, which referred it to the committee on transportation chaired by Councilor Dindo Ramos.

Ramos said they were waiting for the opinion of the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office because the proposed night market venue was a very long street.

During the administration of then mayor Monico Puentevella, a night market was also tried – on Ballesteros Street./PN
