BACOLOD City – The Visayan leg of Go Pilipinas Go (GPG) awareness campaign for the country’s hosting of the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games will be held in this capital city.
Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) chairman William Ramirez said the GPG movement will conduct provincial sorties leading to the 30th edition of the SEA Games.
Ramirez said the GPG movement aims to get everyone involved in the national undertaking and boost the confidence of the national team members.
“We’ll be joining a lot of sports activities,” said Ramirez on Tuesday.
PSC Negros Coordinator Edgar Laforteza said a fun run will be conducted to kick off the “pep rally” activity.
Laforteza said the 3-kilometer fun run from the provincial lagoon in 6th Lacson Street to Bacolod City Government Center will have a free registration.
“I am asking for the support of everybody in this event,” he said.
The country will host the SEA Games for the fourth time since the 2005 biennial meeting.
The 11-nation of this year’s SEA Games is set November 30 to December 11 in various venues including Manila, Subic, Bulacan, and Tagaytay City with a total of 56 sports disciplines./PN
