
BACOLOD City – This city will launch its Sunday Market and Kadiwa ng Pangulo on February 23 at the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC) grounds.
Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez, in a Facebook post on Thursday, February 20, said the Sunday market, which is open from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., aims to provide a platform for small businesses, promote sustainable agriculture, and strengthen the local food economy by directly connecting farmers and fisherfolk with the consumers.
“Suportahan naton ang aton local farmers and producers nga amo man ang nagabulig pasiguro nga ang aton mga produkto malimpyo, maayo, kag available ini whole year round,” the Mayor Benitez said.
The Bacolod Sunday Market and Kadiwa ng Pangulo will showcase a variety of fresh and locally produced goods, including fresh and cooked seafood, seasonal fruits, vegetables, plants and succulents, herbs, fresh and processed mushrooms, fresh and cooked eggs, brewed coffee, fresh lettuce, and kakanins, among others.
Kadiwa ng Pangulo, meanwhile, is a program that connects farmers and small businesses directly to consumers, offering affordable agricultural products and basic goods.
Initiated by the national government, it aims to stabilize food prices, support local producers, and ensure food security by eliminating middlemen and reducing supply chain costs./PN
