BACOLOD City – The Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) has initiated a four-day closure of Circumferential Road in Purok Mahimaya-on, Barangay Bata, to accommodate the annual Tapsanay Festival 2024 celebrations.
The closure commenced at 1 p.m. on August 23 and will continue until 6 a.m. on August 26.
Jose Antonio Robello, the deputy officer-in-charge of BTAO, advised motorists to use alternative routes during this period.
Regular vehicles are directed to Sierra Madre, Mount Makiling, and Kanlaon Streets, while trucks have been rerouted to Ruins Road.
Additionally, Robello announced that all driver’s licenses confiscated by BTAO can now be reclaimed during office hours at the BTAO Office, located in the City Agriculture Compound in Barangay Alijis, effective August 20.
This update follows the temporary transfer of license custody to the City Legal Office at the Bacolod City Government Center, managed by City Legal Officer Romeo Carlos Ting Jr., who served concurrently as BTAO head during Patrick Lacson’s leave, which ended on August 15.
Robello further clarified that while the BTAO has suspended clamping operations for vehicles in violation of traffic rules, towing enforcement continues. “Clamping is only necessary when multiple vehicles are apprehended. With fewer violations, towing services can immediately manage the situation,” explained Robello./PN
