BACOLOD City – Seventy persons were arrested in antidrug operations in this capital city last month, the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) reported.
The BCPO was able to file 132 cases in relation to these arrests, which include that of five high-value targets, four street-level targets and 61 newly-identified ones.
BCPO spokesman Chief Inspector Sherlock Gabana said these apprehensions were made in 44 police operations in August.
The operations led to the recovery of a total of 672.46 grams of shabu valued at around P10.087 million.
The biggest drug haul in a single operation was made in Barangay Singcang-Airport on Aug. 9. Newly-identified drug personality Errol Gimarangan Jr. was arrested after Police Station 8 officers recovered from him P5.1 million worth of shabu.
The second biggest confiscation was in Purok Ube, Barangay 4 on Aug. 7. Shabu worth some P1.44 million was seized.
The following day, the City Drug Enforcement Unit made another big drug haul in Barangay Singcang-Airport. Shabu worth P1.02 million was recovered from four high-value drug targets. (With a report from PNA/PN)
