Bacolod cops net P1.8-M ‘shabu’, 6 suspects

BACOLOD City – Operatives of the Bacolod City Police Office’s (BCPO) City Drug Enforcement Unit confiscated approximately P1.8 million worth of alleged illegal drugs from six suspects in a buy-bust operation around 10:31 a.m. on February 8 in Purok Star Apple 2, Barangay 27 here.

Around 270 grams of suspected shabu were recovered suspects identified as aliases “Jenica”, 28, a resident of Barangay 27, and tagged as a high-value target; “Rocky”, 32, of Murcia, Negros Occidental; “Jingle”, 46, “Terence”, 39, and “Kim”, 33, all residents of Barangay Taculing in this city; and “Marlon”, 39, from Barangay 23 here.

All suspects are now under police custody pending the filing of charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

The BCPO said the successful operation over the weekend underscores the determination of the police force in keeping Bacolod City safe and free from the drug menace.

It said they remained committed to their relentless campaign against illegal drugs in line with the directives of the Philippine National Policeand the national government’s efforts to combat drug-related crimes./PN
