BACOLOD City – Around P21 million worth of illegal drugs were seized in 107 police operations from February to April this year, according to City Anti-Drug Abuse Council head liaison Samuel Montoyo Sr.
Montoyo noted the record was based on the reports submitted by the Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) and the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO).
The biggest drug haul during the three-month period was P10.7 million in a sting operation staged by the PRO-6’s Drug Enforcement Unit.
It was followed by Police Station 3 with P4.7 million worth of drugs.
The total drug confiscation were also comprised of BCPO Drug Enforcement Unit with PP2.9 million; Police Station 2 with P2.3 million; Police Station 8 with P498,000; Police Station 7 with P435,000; Police Station 4 with P388,000; Police Station 6 with P171,000; Police Station 10 with P28,000; and Police Station 1 with P7,000.
“With this performance of our law enforcers, we will give them a commendation if they can confiscate illegal drugs valued more than P1 million,” said Montoyo.
The commendation will encourage the police officers to intensify their campaign against illegal drugs, he added./PN
