BACOLOD City – The city government has constituted a local inter-agency committee (IAC) for its planned socialized housing site in Barangay Singcang here.
On Monday, April 21, Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez issued Executive Order (EO) No. 07 on this in accordance with Presidential Proclamation No. 748.
The local IAC, he said, shall be composed of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Region 6 as chair; Sangguniang Panlungsod committee on urban poor housing and resettlement chairman as co-chair; and representatives from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP), National Housing Authority – Negros Occidental District Office, and Sunset Village Homeowner’s Association as members.
Mayor Benitez said former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo issued on December 13, 2004 the said proclamation entitled “Reserving a Certain Parcel of Land of the Public Domain Situated in Barangay of Singcang, City of Bacolod, Negros Occidental for Socialized Housing Site Purposes Under the Administration of the National Housing Authority and Declaring the Same Open for Disposition in Favor of the Qualified Beneficiaries.”
The proclamation identified a parcel of land in Barangay Singcang containing an area of 13,333 square meters and declared it to be open for disposition purposely for socialized housing of qualified beneficiaries in accordance with Republic Act (RA) 7279, or the Urban Development) and Housing Act, now amended by RA 10884./PN
