BACOLOD City – Fewer crimes were recorded in this city in the first quarter of the year compared to the same period in 2020.
The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) logged 321 crime incidents between January and March this year – a 19.14 percent drop from last year’s 397 incidents.
Of this year’s incidents, 71 were index crimes and 250 were non-index crimes.
However, for the first quarter of 2021, the crime clearance efficiency and crime solution efficiency both dropped by 5.89 percent and 2.07 percent, respectively, according to BCPO.
The average monthly crime rate this first three months also dropped to 17.49 from last year’s 21.63.
The decline could be attributed to “enhanced managing police operations”, the BCPO furthered.
Along its anti-criminality measures, the BCPO is also implementing strict health protocols to curb coronavirus transmission.
Colonel Manuel Placido, BCPO director, commended the operating units for “the relentless effort” to stop all forms of criminality./PN
