BACOLOD City – The city government’s regular and non-regular employees will be getting additional bonuses and gratuity pay after the P50 million allocation has been approved.
Councilor Thaddeus Sayson, appropriation and finance chair of the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP), said on Wednesday they approved the appropriation ordinance following the issuance of Administrative Order (AO) Nos. 12 and 13 of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. providing a one-time service recognition incentive (SRI).
The councilor has yet to reveal the exact amount to be received by the employees, but he assured that there is already a budget, which was sourced from the savings of the city.
Based on AO 12, workers in the executive branch will receive SRIs of not more than P20,000 each.
In granting the gratuity pay, the AO 13 stated that local government units are encouraged to adopt it in their respective offices as the grant of gratuity pay to workers whose services are engaged through contracts of service (COS) and job orders (JO), utilizing appropriate and available funding sources from their respective local government funds.
The corresponding supplemental budget for the purpose shall be enacted by the local sanggunian concerned chargeable against the available fiscal year (FY) 2023 appropriations or surplus, part of the AO 13 said.
The payment of gratuity pay to qualified COS and JO workers in government for FY 2023 shall be made no earlier than Dec. 16.
Meanwhile, the SRI bonus to be received by the regular city workers is on top of the collective negotiation agreement bonus that they will be receiving./PN
