Bacolod extends deadline of biz registration

BACOLOD City – This city has extended the deadline of the filing of business permit applications from Jan. 20 to Feb. 15.

The Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) approved on Wednesday, Jan. 11, the resolution extending the business one-stop-shop (BOSS) registration or the filing of business permits and licenses for the year 2023, and the first quarter payment of business taxes, fees and charges.

This was following the letter submitted by the Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MBCCI) to Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez requesting for an extension of the filing of business registration.

“In behalf of the business community of this city, we are respectfully requesting extension of the filing of our mayor’s permit for the year 2023 and the first quarter payment of the business tax to March 31, 2023,” read part of the letter signed by MBCCI chief executive officer Frank Carbon.

According to Stela Rose Rayos, head of the business permits and licensing office (BPLO), there are two options in applying  for business registration: through the BOSS at the fourth floor of the Ayala Malls Capitol Central or online application via the official website of the city at https://bacolodcity.gov.ph/online-services/.

As of Monday, Jan 9, BPLO recorded 8,011 registrants, of which 6,301 were manually processed and 1,710 were through online applications.

In 2022, the SP also extended the BOSS registration deadline from Jan. 21 until March 31, pursuant to Republic Act No. 11494, or the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act./PN
