Bacolod fire guts four houses

BACOLOD City – Three houses were destroyed while another one was partially damaged in a fire that broke out in Purok Masinadyahon, Barangay Pahanocoy in this city around 8:25 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27.

Fire Superintendent Jenny Mae Masip, city fire marshal, said the fire originated from an overheated laptop at the second floor of the house of Regina Pagunsan, adding it was left unplugged.

The fire reached first alarm status and damage was pegged at approximately P229,700.

Masip added that the said area is one of the red zones. These places are hard to access in case of fire.

At present, the Bureau of Fire Protection-Bacolod has identified 285 fire-prone areas or red zones across the city./PN
