BACOLOD City – The number of fire incidents here in 2022 dropped by one, based on data released by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Bacolod City.
According to BFP-Bacolod, they recorded 332 fire incidents in 2022 while 333 incidents were recorded in 2021.
The month of January saw the most number of fire incidents at 53, followed by February with 47, and May with 42 incidents.
The most costly month due to fire based on the affidavits of fire loss submitted was in April with damages valued at P10,067,246.50.
Electrical post fires made up most of the fire incidents last year with a total of 102 incidents, followed by grass fires (88) and residential fires (76).
BFP-Bacolod also recorded 17 fire-related injuries in 2022 compared to seven in 2021, and there were no fire-related fatalities recorded for 2022. (DGB, WDJ)
