Bacolod fire razes 7 houses, leaves over P768K damage

BACOLOD City – A total of seven houses caught fire in Barangay Tangub here on Wednesday morning, August 21.

According to the city’s Bureau of Fire Protection(BFP), four houses were destroyed while three were partially damaged.

BFP said they received a fire call at around 10:05 a.m. and a “fire out” was declared at 10: 37 a.m.

It added that property damage was estimated to have reached P768,000 and nine families were displaced.

One resident, meanwhile, was injured. The 23-year-old Jhamil Toga sustained burned on his left arm.

Fire officers said the fire originated from the house of Edna Sarmiento.

As of this writing, they were still investigating the cause of the blaze.

The city’s Department of Social Services and Development has provided food assistance to the affected families pending the release of financial assistance./PN
