BACOLOD City β The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) β Bureau of Local Government Supervision recently named this city as one of the passers of the 2018 Good Financial Housekeeping (GFH).
Previously known as the Seal of Good Housekeeping (SGH), the GFH referred to the compliance of the local government units (LGUs) to the accounting and auditing standards, and rules and regulations.
This also included the compliance with the full disclosure policy of local budget and finances, bids, and public offerings.
The GFH is one of the six area assessments of the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG).
Other SGLG variables comprised of business-friendliness and competitiveness, disaster preparedness, environmental management, social protection, and peace and order.
Mayor Evelio Leonardia emphasized that the recognition assures that the city is on the right track where financial management is concerned.
βWe also give credit to our men and women in the city government who keep the day-to-day transactions and dealings with our public in order,β he said.
According to the City Public Information Office, the GFH citation adds to the prestigious awards, recognitions, and citations that Bacolod has received from various award-giving bodies in 2018. (PIA/PN)
