BACOLOD City – The city government is all set for the second leg of anti-coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) national vaccination days, dubbed “Bayanihan Bakunahan” from Dec.15 to 17.
“We have no problem with the (vaccine) supplies,” said Mayor Evelio Leonardia.
The mayor is hopeful Bacolod could reach herd immunity before the year ends.
Vaccination would be expanded to areas where there are still a number of unvaccinated residents, said Leonardia.
Although 86.76 percent of its target population already received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 69 percent fully vaccinated, Leonardia reminded residents not to be complacent.
“People want to go back to normalcy (but) COVID is still here, and we still need to be protected. Get vaccinated, wear your facemasks and always observe social distancing,” he said./PN
