Bacolod gov’t eyes to build 5 mini-hospitals

BACOLOD City –The local government here plans to establish five mini-hospitals.

Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez said this is to improve the health care system and address the city’s lack of capacity to fully accommodate Bacolodnons.

“Mga hospitals nagagutok, nagapila mga tawo, indi ta kahatag sang medical services kay overcrowded na ang aton hospitals,” said Benitez.

The construction of the mini-hospitals will be funded by a P5.5 billion bank loan.

According to Benitez, two banks are offering: the Land Bank of the Philippines and the Development Bank of the Philippines.

At least P50 million will be allocated for each mini-hospital, which will be placed in strategic locations in the city.

The P5.5 billion loan will also be used for the construction of a P600-million legislative building and the acquisition of lots for the establishment of a new sanitary landfill, among others./PN
