BACOLOD City – The city government turned over the Asenso Yuhum Housing units to 64 beneficiaries of the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) program of the national government.
The aforementioned beneficiaries will occupy the first of the four buildings, which is comprised of a total of 296 units.
The first-time homeowners applied for home ownership under the 4PH through the Home Mutual Development (Pag-IBIG) Fund.
The turnover ceremony on Saturday, January 25, was led by Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez together with Bacolod Housing Authority (BHA) head Victoria Parreñas, Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Region 6 director Eva Marfil, and Pag-IBIG Fund 4PH/CHI representative for Western Visayas Kenneth Macoy.
“We are turning dreams into reality. As we turn over the units to our deserving beneficiaries, we are a step closer to a Bacolod where every family has a place to call home,” Mayor Benitez said.
The event also marks a significant milestone in the city’s 4PH housing initiative, highlighting the strong collaboration between the local and national governments in addressing the housing needs of the local residents.
Prior to the turnover ceremony, Pag-IBIG Fund presented to the city government officials a sample amortization plan for a 24-square meter unit, which amounts to P2,194.84 per month under the graduated amortization scheme, with a maximum repayment term of 30 years.
In 2023, Bacolod City was the first local government unit to sign an agreement with the DHSUD to implement the 4PH, the flagship shelter program of the Marcos administration.
The city, through the 4PH, will provide safe and secure homes especially to informal settlers (ISFs) in this city, particularly those residing in high-risk areas of red zone areas that are prone to fire hazards due to overcrowding./PN
