BACOLOD City – The City Population Office (CPO), in partnership with various local agencies, recently organized a “Young Mothers Congress” at the Bacolod City College (BCC) gymnasium in Barangay Taculing.
The event gathered 100 young mothers from 10 barangays across Bacolod to provide them with essential skills, support services, and community resources.
The congress featured a practical workshop led by the City Cooperative and Livelihood Development Office (CCLDO), where participants learned to make dishwashing soap. Starter kits were also distributed to those interested in launching a small dishwashing soap business.
There was free haircut for attendees, while the Local Civil Registrar (LCR) assisted mothers whose children had not yet been registered.
There was also free servings of arroz caldo and lomi for participants, adding a touch of local flavor to the event.
The City Health Office offered free consultations, and a seminar on health and well-being was conducted by the Urban Basic Services Division, in collaboration with City Health personnel./PN
