BACOLOD City – The Sangguniang Panlungsod here concurred the appointment of Ma. Victorina Parrenas as the new head of the Bacolod Housing Authority (BHA).
Parrenas, who was formerly assigned at the City Planning Development Office, occupied her post in BHA last week, replacing its officer-in-charge, Architect Faith Joy Lumauag.
She said the first task on her list is providing a relocation site for informal settlers living in danger zones in various barangays, as well as those occupying in government lands used for infrastructure projects.
“We will review if who these qualified beneficiaries are and we will check if they are eligible to avail the relocation,” Parrenas said.
She added that she personally handled the community-based monitoring system and that they know who are those informal settlers in need of relocation.
“Several informal settlers in this city are coming to BHA to avail the relocation at the Progreso Village in Barangay Vista Alegre, but we have to make an assessment first,” Parrenas said./PN
