Bacolod, Iloilo in 2nd tranche of SAP cash aid

ILOILO City – Only three areas in Western Visayas are included in the second tranche of emergency cash aid under the national government’s Social Amelioration Program – this city, Bacolod City and Iloilo province.

These three areas were under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) from May 1 to May 15, said Regional Director Ma. Evelyn Macapobre of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

The first tranche was released in April and covered all of Region 6. By May, however, only these three areas remained under ECQ. The rest of the region – Guimaras, Antique, Aklan, Capiz, and Negros Occidental – was downgraded to general community quarantine by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MIED).

Just like in the first tranche, qualified beneficiaries will receive P6,000 each in the second tranche.

Macapobre said DSWD Region 6 will be waiting for the implementing guidelines from its central office.

Ang deadline ng payout is June 24. Lahat ng pamaraan para ma-release ang pera ay gagawin,” said Macapobre.

The target beneficiary-families in Iloilo City is 79,285; Iloilo province, 310,623; and Bacolod City, 98,143. Macapobre also said 163,617 qualified families from all over the region left out in the first tranche would be released P6,000 each in the second tranche.

The director announced, too, that 104,027 4Ps Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries in this city, Iloilo province, Bacolod City and other parts of Region 6 covered by SAP may withdraw their second tranche of emergency cash assistance using their 4Ps Euro Master Visa cash cards.

“Each household grantee is  entitled to an emergency subsidy of P4,650, a top-up on their monthly 4Ps cash grants for health (P750) and rice subsidy (P600), hence completing the P6,000 SAP package,” said Macapobre./PN
