BACOLOD City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) confirmed that there are no identified “insurgency hotspots” in this city.
Brigadier General Archival Macala, officer-in-charge of the PRO-6, said insurgency hotspots were only in the hinterlands of Negros Occidental province.
Macala was in Bacolod on Friday, May 19, to attend the 2nd Quarter Regional Joint Peace and Security Coordinating Center-6 (RJPSCC-6) meeting held at the Session Hall of the Bacolod City Government Center.
The RJPSCC-6 issued a resolution declaring Bacolod an insurgency-free city.
Macala said, “I told all the commanders to maintain peace and order in their areas. Dapat ma-feel ng mga tao ang presensya ng mga kapulisan para sa serbisyong nagkakaisa.”
He also disclosed that part of the meeting was the peace and order situation for the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections./PN
