BACOLOD City – The city government’s proposed budget for 2021 is P2.6 billion.
Mayor Evelio Leonardia said this is 13 percent lower than this year’s budget of P3 billion.
“All of a sudden because of this pandemic, we have to slow down. For the first time, our budget for next year dropped by 13 percent,” Leonardia said.
The tax collection of the city government has been adversely affected, the mayor explained.
Some of the offices will have reduced budgets such as for their supplies, equipment and the like.
All offices are affected, according to Leonardia, but he vowed to make sure the City Health Office will not be affected.
Leonardia also said the Internal Revenue Allotment of the city remains stable.
The city mayor noted that the necessary documents for the budget were already submitted to the Office of the Vice Mayor for review prior to the approval of the Sangguniang Panlungsod./PN
