BACOLOD City-The Local Government Unit (LGU) here will grant a hazard and gratuity pay for the traffic enforcers serving in Bacolod City.
This was following the approval of the city council on Wednesday of the proposed ordinance granting hazard pay for the regular and plantilla casual employees; and gratuity pay for the job order(JO) casuals.
Authored by Councilor Dindo Ramos, chair of the Committee on Transportation, who said that the city will give a hazard pay of P2,000, while the gratuity pay of P1,000 every month.
The ordinance aims to motivate traffic enforcers to work harder while performing their duties and responsibilities in the field.
Ramos said that only gratuity pay will be received by the JOs because it needs a big amount of budget for them.
There were 300 JOs deployed in traffic enforcement, and this is amounting to a total of P300,000 monthly, the Councilor pointed out.
Dennis Perma, spokesperson of the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office(BTAO)said, as of now there were 27 regular employees assigned to traffic enforcement.
He added that the incentive is a big help to the traffic enforcers, whom they are asking for so long.
“Our traffic enforcers were grateful after learning that an ordinance granting them an incentive was passed, this will encourage them to do their work more efficiently and effectively, “Perma said./PN
