BACOLOD City – The Emergency Operations Center inoculated 13,403 individuals against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on Tuesday, the highest vaccinees recorded in a single day.
This, too, exceeded the city’s daily target of 12,000.
A total of 4,282 people were inoculated of their first dose; 6,494 second dose while 2,627 availed themselves of booster jabs.
Mayor Evelio Leonardia is confident that the local government will reach its goal to inoculate 100 percent of the city’s target population before the year ends.
This city has so far reached over 50 percent vaccination rate.
Around 40-50 vaccination centers, including schools, malls and other establishments will be opened.
“We are now accelerating our vaccination program,” Leonardia said.
While the city’s COVID-19 cases have gone down in the past four weeks, the mayor reminded residents not to be complacent.
The mayor is urging Bacolodnons to take part in the national vaccination drive from Nov. 29 to Dec.1./PN
