BACOLOD City – The city government is now accepting applications for the registration of new business and renewal of registration of existing businesses.

Since the business one-stop-shop (BOSS) registration has begun, applicants can just go directly to the 4th floor of Ayala Malls Capital Central from Monday to Friday, said Stela Rose Rayos, head of the business permits and licensing office (BPLO).

No prior online appointment is required, she added.

Aside from BOSS, the BPLO also accepts applications for business registration online. Rayos said applicants can just visit the official website of the city at https://bacolodcity.gov.ph/online-services/.

Rayos observed during the first day of registration on Jan. 3 that the volume of manual or walk-in applicants dropped compared to previous years.

“This is possibly because of e-governance. They can process online where they can be issued business permits right away if they have fully accomplished the process,” she said.

Meanwhile, Rayos reminds barangays to participate in the BOSS pursuant to Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez’s executive order.

One of the requirements in processing new or renewal of business permit is barangay clearance.

She noticed that yesterday, out of 61 barangays in the city, only Barangays Taculing and 33 participated./PN
