BACOLOD City – Vendors at Manokan Country have agreed to temporarily relocate their stalls to the SM City Mall Parking Hub in the Reclamation Area, Barangay 12, following discussions with city officials.

The agreement came after a meeting with Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez on July 15, where the 24 stall owners presented a letter of intent signaling their readiness to move just across from their current location.

Councilor Celia Flor, chair of the Sangguniang Panlungsod committee on markets, confirmed that all pending issues were resolved during the dialogue.

Vendors who have outstanding arrears are required to adhere to a payment plan devised by the City Treasurer’s Office.

They must settle their dues within 18 months to secure a space in the new building, with failure to comply resulting in the loss of their allotted space.

The relocation site at the SM City Mall will provide temporary stalls free of charge during the construction period.

Additionally, Fr. Ferrero Street will be converted into an extension of the Manokan stalls and will be pedestrianized.

A canopy will be installed over the entire strip to enhance dining comfort for visitors and locals alike./PN
