BACOLOD City – A 10 percent discount awaits business owners in this city who will opt to renew their business permits for 2025 in advance.
Stela Rose Rayos, head of the city’s Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO), told the media yesterday that effective Wednesday, November 20, they will start accepting applications for advance processing of business permit renewals.
“This means that new applicants who will process their business permits starting the given date are not covered by the incentive,” clarified Rayos.
The incentive for early renewal of business permits is only until January 20, 2025.
Rayos said the aforementioned discount offered to business owners was provided under City Ordinance No. 565, also known as the Revised Revenue Code of Bacolod City, which covers the administrative provisions for issuing mayor’s permits.
Interested business owners who want to avail of the discount should visit the BPLO at Bacolod City Government Center, Government Service Express (GSE) and Bacolod Express Service Office (BESO).
Rayos added that from November 20 to 22, BPLO staff will also accept applications at Gaisano City, Gaisano Grand and 888 Mall. On November 27, 28 and 30, they will be in City Mall-Mandalagan, Goldenfields and Lopues East to cater the early business permit renewals.
Data from the BPLO showed that this year they have recorded more than P24,000 business registrations, higher than last year’s around 23,000 registrations.
Also, the BPLO had endorsed 503 business establishments to the City Legal Office for closure, of which 104 had been closed as of November 15./PN
