Bacolod OKs liquor in hotels, restos

BACOLOD City – This city now allows the “gradual” sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages in authorized establishments outside private residences and other areas.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia’s Executive Order (EO) No. 3, series of 2020 allows hotels, restaurants and other similar dine-in establishments to sell and serve liquor from 6 p.m. up to 9 p.m. only.

The mayor, however, prohibited serving and selling of intoxicating drinks in beerhouses, nightclubs, karaoke bars/clubs, or any establishment whose business is to primarily serve/sell liquor.

Leonardia issued his latest directive following the drop in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in the city.

He cited the data from the Emergency Operations Center showing Bacolod with 100 remaining active infections as of Feb. 10.

Meanwhile, Leonardia’s EO No. 2, series of 2021 issued on Jan. 31 remains in effect.

It retained the partial ban on the sale of liquor, wine, beer, or any alcoholic or intoxicating beverages from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. only. Consumption of such will only be done within private residences.

“Considering the continuing threat of COVID-19, restaurants and other similar establishments shall enforce the strict observance of minimum health protocols by all employees and customers, including the use of BaCTrac (for contract tracing), wearing of facemask and face shield, hand hygiene, physical distancing, and venue capacity,” Leonardia stated in the order./PN
