BACOLOD City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6), led by director Chief Superintendent Cesar Hawthorne Binag, turned over equipment to the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) yesterday.
The turnover was held during a flag-raising ceremony at the BCPO Parade Ground in Barangay Taculing, which was also attended by officers from the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo).
The equipment given to the BCPO includes 10 motorcycles, eight submachine guns and two body cameras.
Senior Superintendent Francisco Ebreo, officer-in-charge of the BCPO, said the motorcycles will be distributed to each of the 10 police stations in the city.
The submachine guns, meanwhile, will be given to the BCPO Special Weapons and Tactics team to“further enhance their capabilities,” Ebreo added.
He said the body cameras will be used by the BCPO Drugs Enforcement Unit(CDEU) to maintain transparency in its operations.
Binag also gave awards to BCPO and Nocppo personnel for their accomplishments under the anticrime campaign.
The PRO-6 director conferred each a “MedalyangKagalingan” to Ebreo, BCPO City Intelligence Unit chief Superintendent NasruddinTauan, BCPO City Intelligence Unit deputy chiefInspector Adrian James Albaytar, and the BCPO CDEU personnel.
The awards were in relation to the buy-bust operation that led to the arrest of three drug suspects in Barangay Villamonte on Feb. 13.
A total of 18 sachets of shabu weighing 68.181 valued at about P917,715 were recovered in the operation.
Binag also gave the same medals to Chief Inspector Rogelio Pacificar Jr. of Nocppo and Senior Inspector Rey Molas of the San Enrique municipal police station.
Ebreo said the coordination among the police, the local government units, and the community is important in the war against crimes./PN
