
BACOLOD City – After recovering millions worth of suspected shabu in the past days, the police in this city will continue to be aggressive in pursuing illegal drug personalities.
“We will continue despite the (Christmas) holidays. We will even be more active in the operations,” said Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, public information officer of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO).
Street-level target Hardy Gellang was arrested around 2 a.m. on Tuesday by operatives of Police Station 2 in a buy-bust operation in Barangay 40.
Gellang, 35, allegedly sold P500 worth of suspected shabu to an undercover policeman.
The suspect also yielded seven sachets of suspected illegal drugs, weighing about 13 grams valued around P195,000, along with an improvised .357-caliber revolver loaded with four live ammunition.
On Dec. 21, personnel of Police Station 3 arrested two persons and confiscated around P9.1 million worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Banago.
Suspects Sunny Capa, 22, and Ely Lorence Sazon, 20, allegedly sold a sachet of suspected illegal drugs to an undercover cop for P1,000 during the operation.
Meanwhile, operatives of Police Station 8 seized P1.8 million worth of suspected shabu from suspect Kimberly Berbor, 25, in Barangay Pahanocoy.
Before her arrest, Berbor, who has been on the BCPO drug watch list, allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover officer on Dec. 18.(With a report from PNA/PN)
