Bacolod receives green banner seal

BACOLOD City – This city received the Green Banner Seal of Compliance from the National Nutrition Council (NNC) during the 2024 Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony (RNAC) at the Smallville 21 Hotel in Iloilo City on Nov. 21.

This marks the city’s third consecutive win.

With collective efforts of various city hall departments, the local government garnered above 85 percent score during the 2024 MELLPI Pro (Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation Protocol) conducted last June.

Likewise, Lora Maria Teresa Clarin, the city’s Nutrition Program Coordinator, was conferred and awarded as the Regional Outstanding City Nutrition Program Coordinator. She is among the Top 5 national contenders vying for the National Outstanding City Nutrition Program Coordinator.

Additionally, Barangay Nutrition Scholar (BNS) Felisa Batisla-ong was recognized as Outstanding BNS in this city.

This yearly ceremony gives honor to the accomplishments and esteemed efforts of local government units (LGUs), local nutrition focal points, and stakeholders in advancing nutrition programs.

The Green Banner Seal of Compliance award is given to LGUs in the region reaching the minimum MELLPI overall rating of at least 85 percent with no rating of less than 60 percent./PN
