BACOLOD City – A newly-opened resort in Barangay Pahanocoy was ordered shut for a string of violations.

City Administrator Em Ang, executive director of the Emergency Operations Center Task Force (EOC-TF), said the establishment held a foam party last week.

Videos and photos of it circulating on social media showed the attendees partying without facemasks and defying social distancing rules.

Such gathering, she said, was a clear violation of Mayor Evelio Leonardia’s Executive Order (EO) No. 84, enforcing community quarantine measures on public events and gatherings.

Aside from breaching quarantine rules, Ang said the resort was found operating without a business permit.

These violations prompted the City Legal Office (CLO) and the Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) to issue a closure order on Jan. 22.

November last year, several resorts in Barangay Sum-ag and an establishment in Barangay Mandalagan were also shut for failing to secure business permits and violating quarantine protocols./PN
