BACOLOD City – Anticipating a bigger volume of registrants in the last week of September for the 2022 elections, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) office here is moving its voters’ registration venue to the cavernous University of Saint La Salle(USLS)-Bacolod coliseum.
The last four days of the registration are Sept. 27, 28, 29, and 30 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
There will be no registration at Comelec-Bacolod’s office on San Juan Street, according to City Election Officer Kathrina Caña who will return to work following a 14-day quarantine after one of her staff got infected with corona virus disease 2019.
Comelec-Bacolod thanked USLS-Bacolod for allowing it to utilize the coliseum.
Caña said they want to accommodate more registrants daily.
Comelec-Bacolod has only two “capturing machines” which can accommodate an average of 300 registrants daily.
Caña reminded registrants that the USLS coliseum is a private property thus they must abide with the rules of the school, such has wearing proper clothes. Sleeveless clothing and shorts are not allowed.
This Sept. 25, the city Comelec is conducting a satellite registration at SM City Mall-Bacolod under the supervision of acting city Comelec Adrian Arellano who temporarily took over the post of Caña since Sept. 21./PN
