BACOLOD City – Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) members here requested the City Health Office (CHO) to immediately conduct interventions on the reported cholera and severe diarrhea cases in several barangays.
Councilor Simplicia Distrito said the cases prompted her to author a resolution which was approved by the city council during its regular session on Wednesday.
Part of the resolution read, “There have been reported cases of cholera in some barangays, particularly in Barangay Mansilingan and severe cases of diarrhea in Barangay Singcang-Airport.”
The urgent intervention of the CHO is necessary to contain and prevent the same from affecting more individuals, Distrito said.
The CHO must coordinate with the barangays to ensure prompt action and conduct a massive information dissemination campaign, she added.
