BACOLOD City-The local government unit here is targeting to inoculate the coronavirus disease-2019(COVID-19) vaccines to children five to 11 years old in this city.
The schedule for the vaccination at the said age is yet to be announced by the city pending an advisory and the guidelines from the Department of Health (DOH) to roll out in the provinces.
According to the report, the national government will start inoculating children five to 11 years old on Feb. 4 in Metro Manila.
Doctor Chris Sorongon, deputy for medical and data analysis of the Emergency Operations Center(EOC) said after the rollout in Manila thatās the time to start the vaccination of children five to 11 years old in the provinces.
He added the vaccination will be scheduled by phases where in Phase 1, it will be the pilot area; Phase 2, National Capital Region; and Phase 3, the provinces.
Sorongon noted that they already started the master listing children aged five to 11 years old in preparation for the vaccination and it may reach 90,000 children or more.
He said they will use the Pfizer vaccine for children five to 11 years old and the registration is ongoing.
Sorongon encourages the parents to register their kids now to get ahead of the master list for them to avail of COVID-19 vaccines.
