BACOLOD Tay Tung High School Thunderbolts have loaded up its secondary girls volleyball team ahead of its upcoming tournaments by elevating three players from its aspirants squad.
Thunderbolts assistant coach Biboy Calamba told Panay News that libero Gwen Banas, middle blocker Nicolei Galvan and hitter Kathleen Tan were already part of the senior team.
Gone from its last yearâs team were open hitter Erika Deloria, middle blocker Dya Mejos and libero Beatrice Decena, who have used up their playing years in the local tournaments.
âThe three are good additions to the seniors team,â Calamba said. âThey have been training with our aspirantsâ squad for years and are now ready to play with the veterans.â
Still with the team are Shane Carmona, Joan Marie Monares, Alyssa Bertolano, Katherine Cortez, Nikha Cabasac, Rhean Almendralejo, Kiesha Bedonia and Aurea Alvero.
The new-look Thunderbolts squad will be tested during the Regional Finals of the Rebisco Volleyball League from June 13 to 16 at the University of St. La Salle Gymnasium in Bacolod City./PN
