BACOLOD Tay Tung High School Thunderbolts aims to repeat as the Visayas representative as it competes in the girls volleyball event of 2019 Batang Pinoy Visayas Qualifier leg starting today at the Central Philippine University Gym.
Thunderbolts head coach Charisse Neri said that they were confident of their chances in the qualifiers for the Batang Pinoy National Finals despite sending in their aspirants squad.
Holdovers from the Thunderboltsâ 2018 Batang Pinoy National Finals champion squad were Katherine Shane Cortez, Charlene Tayapad, Nicolei Galvan, and Gwen Banas.
Others in the lineup were Amber Lily Biong, Sandy Sta. Rita, Jothea Ramos, Ana Hermosura, Sophie Cagalawan, Alijah Ysulan, Jermaine Joniega and Antheia Galicia.
âWe are positive that we can repeat here in Batang Pinoy. We might have a practically new team but this a fighting lineup,â Neri told Panay News.
âThis group has been training and playing for a while now so chemistry will not be an issue,â she added. âHowever, we still have to be prepared because we will be facing are among the best team here in Visayas.â
Aside from volleyball, the Bacolod Tay Tung will also send representatives in basketball, which is composed of their elementary boys team that recently ruled the WVRAA Meet, and in athletics./PN
