Bacolod throws ‘biggest children’s party’

BACOLOD City – The city government will throw a “birthday party” for Bacolod with around 1,000 kids as its guests.

Councilor Cindy Rojas said this is among the side events of the ongoing 39th MassKara Festival, which is billed as the City of Smiles’ 21-day 80th birthday celebration.

The children are from various daycare centers in the city.

The party will start at 3 p.m. today at the Bacolod City Government Center.

Rojas said it will be the “biggest children’s party” in Bacolod.

It will feature a giant birthday cake and mascots like Ronald McDonald, Grimace, Hamburglar, and Birdie from the food-chain McDonald’s.

Ice cream from Creamline, cupcakes from Merczi and gifts from Smart Communications will also be given to the children.

The MassKara Festival kicked off on Monday at the public plaza, led by Mayor Evelio Leonardia and Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran./PN
