Bacolod to compete in 3×3 basketball bubble tourney

MANILA – Bacolod-Master Sardines is set to compete in the 2020 Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3 President’s Cup at the Inspire Sports Academy Calamba in Calamba, Laguna today.

Bannering the squad are big men Alfred Batino and Chris Lalata with guards Anton Asistio, Robin Roño and Jul-Ashri Ignacio.

Bacolod-Master Sardines showed their readiness for the competition after garnering a runner-up during the pre-season tournament on Monday night following a 21-17 loss to Family’s Brand Sardines-Zamboanga City Chooks in the finals.

Prior to that, Bacolod-Master Sardines concluded the elimination round with a 2-1 win-loss record following wins over Petra Cement-Roxas City ZN Rockies (21-13) and Palayan City-Capitals (21-14) and loss to Uling Roasters-Butuan City (21-16).

In the semifinals round, the Bacolod City squad of Asistio, Roño, Batino, Lalata and Ignacio defeated Pasig-Sta. Lucia Realtors (21-13).

Other 3×3 teams competing in the bubble beginning today are Nueva Ecija Rice Vanguards, Big Boss Cement-Porac MSC Green Gorillas, Zamboanga Peninsula Valientes MLV, Pagadian City-Rocky Sports, Sarangani Marlins, and Bicol Paxful 3×3 Pro.

The next three legs will be on Oct. 23, 25, and 27 while the Grand Finals which has P1-million as the top prize will take place on October 30. Matches will be shown on Chooks-To-Go Pilipinas Facebook page, Chooks3x3TMChannel and on Beam TV Channel 31./PN
