Bacolod to donate P2M to typhoon victims in Luzon

BACOLOD City – The city government will be donating P2 million for provinces hardest hit by recent typhoons.

Last week, the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council chaired by Mayor Evelio Leonardia approved the financial assistance.

“It is our civic duty to reach out and help in whatever way we can those local government units in Luzon hit hard by successive typhoons,” Leonardia pointed out.

Aside from the financial aid, the city government also organized a donation drive to support the immediate needs of typhoon-stricken communities, particularly in Isabela, Cagayan and Tuguegarao.

The drop-off center of in-kind donations is the Bayanihan Center at the Tourism Satellite Office in this city.

Meanwhile, Councilor Ayesha Joy Villaflor, president of the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation of Bacolod City, likewise organized a multi-sectoral donation campaign for typhoons victims.

Villaflor partnered with Saranggola Dream Project and PassFast, with the latter providing free shipping for the donations./PN
