BACOLOD City — The City Government of Bacolod is set to host the 10th International Farm Tourism Conference Philippines (IFTC-P) in 2027, bringing together local and international stakeholders in sustainable tourism, agriculture, and farm tourism.
The International School of Sustainable Tourism (ISST) formally invited Bacolod to serve as the next host city of the conference following the successful staging of the 9th IFTC-P in Baguio City from March 4 to 6, 2026.
In a letter dated January 30, 2026, ISST President Dr. Mina Gabor invited Bacolod Mayor Greg Gasataya to host the 10th edition of the conference, citing the city’s strong leadership, vibrant culture, and strategic role in Western Visayas.
Secretary to the Mayor Atty. Marty Go said city officials and tourism stakeholders met at the Mayor’s Office on August 7 to discuss preparations and plans for the event.
The three-day conference is scheduled for February 17 to 19, 2027, in Bacolod and is expected to bring together tourism leaders, government officials, farm tourism practitioners, educators, investors, and international delegates to promote sustainable agriculture and community-based tourism development.
The IFTC-P is considered one of the country’s major platforms for advancing farm tourism, providing opportunities for knowledge-sharing, partnerships, and collaboration among stakeholders from the tourism, agriculture, and private sectors.
The 9th IFTC-P in Baguio City highlighted sustainable agriculture and tourism under the theme, “Highland Harvest: Cultivating Sustainable Agriculture and Tourism.”
The ISST, recognized as the first sustainable tourism school in the Asia-Pacific region, focuses on developing future leaders and advocates in sustainable tourism through education and capacity-building programs./PN
