BACOLOD City – To protect its vulnerable groups, this city will kick off pediatric vaccination against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) next month. Parents or guardians are encouraged to register their children aged 12 to 17 years old online.
The vaccination will start with children with comorbidities under the “Pediatric A3” priority group.
The Department of Health (DOH) has given them the green light, the Emergency Operations Center-Task Force (EOC-TF) said in a statement.
The inoculation will start on Nov. 5.

EOC-TF said it is “more than ready” for the roll-out.
According to DOH, the “Pediatric A3” vaccination will focus on minors whose comorbidities include HIV (human immunodeficiency), cancer and tuberculosis, among others.
Minors who have Down syndrome are also qualified under this category.
Only Moderna or Pfizer vaccines will be administered to these minors, the DOH added.
Dr. Chris Sorongon, EOC-TF deputy for medical data and analysis, said the city government targets to vaccinate more than 100,000 minors.
“The EOC will coordinate with public and private schools for the master-listing of our minor population,” added Sorongon./PN
