BACOLOD City – This city targets to utilize the P350 million Bacolod City College (BCC) site development and facilities project for the next opening of face-to-face classes.
Mayor Evelio Leonardia inspected the project situated in Barangay Taculing last month, and he expected it to be fully completed this month.
The site development and facilities of the BCC project include the construction of an Activity Center, Business Education and Information Sytems building, and the improvement of existing structures.
The project is part of the P1.7-billion loan of the city government from the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) obtained in August 2019.
The other projects were the P800-million Bacolod MassKara Coliseum with outdoor arena; P350-million Progreso Village Relocation Site; and P200-million roads and bridges.
BCC, which operates in the city for 25 years, had already produced over 12, 000 graduates including board topnotchers of professional licensure examinations.
“This is one of the most difficult activity centers to construct. Everybody can see the amount of work you’ve put into this project. But you’re not just constructing an activity center; this is also a part of our city’s vision to provide quality education for all,” Leonardia said.
The mayor added that he feels “fulfilled and rewarded” whenever he meets a product of the BCC./PN
