Bacolod tracksters rule FCAAP athletics meet

BACOLOD Tay Tung High School Thunderbolts showed its wares in the elementary and secondary category of the Filipino-Chinese Amateur Athletic Federation (FCAAF) Track and Field Invitational Cup on Sunday at Lingayen, Pangasinan.

The Thunderbolts’ athletics team emerged as the overall champion in the elementary category while it settled for a runner-up finish in the secondary level—overall titlist in girls and second runner up in boys.

Jade Cordova and Krisha Aguillon captured three more golds each, while April Anne Dealagdon added two golds to cap off the Thunderbolts’ domination in elementary category of the two-day athletics meet.

Aguillon, Shalthea Delotavo and Jade Cordova had a gold-silver-bronze finish in the 200 meter event, Dealagdon and Delotavo had gold and silver in 800 meter and Cordova topped the 100 meter hurdles.

Aguillon, Delotavo, Cordova and Ana Hermosura captured the gold medal in the 4×100-meter relay, while Aguillon and Cordova teamed up with Delotavo and Dealagdon in the 4×400 relay gold.

Hannah Jandra Delotavo, meanwhile, came up with three more golds in the secondary girls category after a gold-silver-bronze finish in the 200 meters with fellow Thunderbolts’ Antonette Jay Aguillon and Ara Rahbea Delotavo.

Hannah, Ara, Aguillon and May Therese Gula also emerged as the gold medal winners in the secondary girls 4×100- and 4×400-meter relay events. Hannah also had a silver in 800-meter after finishing behind Gula. Ara also added a gold in 100-meter hurdles.

Jaden Gil Rivera finished with gold medal in the 5000-meter run and silver in 800-meter run, while Klyde Montalbo won a gold in the 2000-meter walk and Luis Miguel Subayco also finished with gold in shot put.

Ralph Acuna, meanwhile, had three silvers in the 200 meter (where teammate Kenjie Okudaira finished with bronze) and in 4×100 and 4×400 relays (with Montalbo, Okudaira and Fritz Valencia) and also a bronze from 800-meter run.

Pamela Marquillero, meanwhile, carried the fight for Iloilo Sun Yat Sen High School with gold medals in the 100-meter hurdles, 4×100 and 4×400 relay with Lejany Salafrana, Jackie Sabando, Vanessa Estelloro, and Angela Michaela Yulo.

Angela Baylon and Cassandra Hunggo had gold-silver medal finishes in the javelin throw and discus throw events, while Nadjima Poingan and Salafrana ended with gold and bronze in 200-meter dash.

Arielle Lachica also delivered a gold medal for Sun Yat Sen in the 2000-meter walk, while Estelloro and Yulo settled for a silver and bronze medal finishes in the 800-meter dash./PN
