BACOLOD City – A traffic enforcer of the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) has been suspended for violating a traffic law.
BTAO head Patrick Lacson said the implicated enforcer, who was backriding on a motorcycle with no helmet, was suspended without pay. The suspension took effect on Feb. 26.
He added that a decision is to be expected within March regarding the job order enforcer’s potential reinstatement or termination.
Lacson withheld the identity of the suspended personnel.
The BTAO head also thanked the vigilant netizen who took and posted the photo of the enforcer in the act of committing a traffic violation.
“Kalaw-ay gid nga amon battle cry usar gid helmet, tapos ang traffic enforcer mismo ang wala gasunod,” Lacson said, emphasizing the importance of adhering to road regulations.
He disclosed that the concerned traffic enforcer also worked for the city during the previous administration and has been the subject of complaints for other violations while rendering his duty./PN
