BACOLOD City – The Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) has implemented a temporary rerouting of the Fortune Towne-Central Market bus loop, as stated in Resolution No. 532, series of 2024.
This adjustment comes in response to Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez’s request for a road closure to support urban clearing operations.
From July 8 to 31, Fr. M. Ferrero Street will be closed from the corner of Rizal Street to the corner of Burgos Street. The closure facilitates a significant clearing operation by the City Integrated Enforcement Team at Manokan Country, Vendors Plaza, and the Jeepney Terminal in Barangay 12.
The project, a collaboration between the city and SM Prime Holdings Inc. (SPHI), aims to enhance the urban infrastructure in the area.
Commuters previously using the affected route to reach SM City Mall will now need to divert from Burgos Street, turn left onto San Juan Street, and then make a right turn onto Rizal Street.
The BTAO has expressed gratitude for the public’s patience and cooperation during this period and encourages commuters to plan their travel accordingly to avoid inconvenience./PN
