MANILA – Bacolodnon guard Kirell Brahndon “Kib” Montalbo of the TNT Tropang Giga emerged as champion in the final round of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Three-point Shootout Charity Virtual Tournament.

The Bacolod City-native rookie finished the match with 238 points beating Alaska Aces’ Robbie Herndon (234) and Meralco Bolts’ Nard John Pinto (222).

For winning the virtual tournament, the former De La Salle University Green Archers guard took home the top prize of P250,000 which will be donated to a chosen charity.

Montalbo entered the championship round after defeating fellow Bacolodnon Justin Chua of the Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters and edged San Miguel Beermen’s Von Pessumal in the quarterfinals.

The six-footer Montalbo is currently sidelined for the league-leading Tropang Giga after sustaining an injury during his debut game against the Aces.

The virtual tournament was participated by 24 players – two players each from 12 PBA squads. The matches were held using the mobile app game PBA Slam./PN
