MANILA – TNT Tropang Giga rookie Kirell Brahndon “Kib” Montalbo is not that bothered with the “bubble-style” set up of the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup restart.

The Bacolod City-native said in a television interview on Wednesday that he sees not much adjustment needed in the “PBA bubble” since he is used to being away from his family.

Since college, the former St. John’s Institute-Bacolod standout was living far from his parents Roger and Marizel after being recruited by the De La Salle University Green Archers in the UAAP.

“I’m used to being homesick, I came from Bacolod City. My parents are there. I’m used to this type of environment. So, I think I have an edge,” Montalbo said in an interview with CNN Philippines.

“Of course, it will be a different environment since there will be no spectators, but I am expecting the games to be as intense,” added the Bacolodnon guard, who was signed to an 18-month deal by TNT after drafting him in the 2019 PBA Draft.

Montalbo is up for a tough competition for minutes in a loaded Tropang Giga backcourt that also features Jayson Castro, Bobby Ray Parks Jr., Simon Enciso, Ryan Reyes, Almond Vosotros, Rodel de Leon, and fellow rookie Valandre Chauca./PN
